Root Down Farm was started in 2014 by West Hartford native Ben Harris. After a decade working as a writer in New York City, Ben had his first taste of the farm life at a small family farm in Southern Vermont. Since then he has farmed in northern California and western Connecticut and earned a certificate in ecological horticulture from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Root Down Farm uses sustainable organic practices to raise a mix of fruits, vegetables and flowers, grown with love and available locally through our CSA shares delivered in the Greater Hartford area.
